Z-Type Color Drum Compatibility

There are several Risograph Z-type drums, most of which are not universally compatible.
Use the following charts to determine compatibility with your machine:

North American Models

RZ 590 & 390 Compatible

MZ 790 & RZ/MZ 990 Compatible but Drum Code Entry may differ
         MZ 790 Drum Code Entry (Test mode #1210): 69
         MZ 790 can be converted to MZ 1090 with special kit

RZ/MZ 1090 & SE/ME 9450 Compatible
         according to some RISO technicians and studios, MH drums are downward compatible with RZ/MZ 1090 & SE/ME 9450 models!
         This has not been officially acknowledged by the RISO company (yet).

EZ 590, 591, 390 & 391 Compatible
         RZ drums are not compatible with EZ, but can be converted with special kit.

European Models

RZ 570 & 370 Compatible

MZ 770 & RZ/MZ 970 Compatible

RZ/MZ 1070 & SE/ME 9350 Compatible
         according to some RISO technicians and studios, MH drums are downward compatible with RZ/MZ 1070 & SE/ME 9350 models!
         This has not been officially acknowledged by the RISO company (yet).

EZ 570, 571, 370 & 371 Compatible
         RZ drums are not compatible with EZ, but can be converted with special kit.

Korean Models

MZ 970 Compatible

Japanese Models

ME 935 Compatible

Mutual Compatibility

The Z-type drum for MZ-970 is compatible with ME-935, MD-6650.
The E-type drum for ME-935 (except HG Black) is compatible with MZ-970, MD-6650.
The D-type drum for MD-6650 is compatible with ME-935, MZ-970.
