The KMD Risograph Workshop is part of the Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design (KMD) at the University of Bergen. It was established in 2013, when the Department of Design at the former Bergen Academy of Art and Design (KHiB) acquired a SE9380E machine. The purchase was inspired by strong interest from BA students in Visual Communication following a study trip to KNUST in the Netherlands.

In 2017, KHiB merged with the Grieg Academy to form the Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design, one of seven faculties at the University of Bergen (UiB).

Since then, the Risograph Workshop has continued to grow – with more colors, additional machines (including the A2 and the MH9350), and broader access. Today, the workshop is open to all KMD students and staff. To use it, students must first complete an introductory course that covers the basics of risograph printing: its possibilities and limitations, how the machines work, troubleshooting, and different approaches to preparing files and printing.

The workshop is run by Mads Andersen.
