Martian Press is a Los Angeles–based Risograph press that publishes artwork and writing with a focus on queerness, speculative fiction, and utopianism. It was founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 2015 by Stephanie Lane Gage, who continues to operate it.
History
Martian Press was established in 2015 after Gage’s graduation from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. The press relocated to Los Angeles in 2017, first operating from Gage’s apartment and later from a studio in the Toy District of Downtown Los Angeles. In 2019, Gage presented the press at the North American Risograph Conference in Chicago.
In 2023, after earning an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts, Gage moved Martian Press to its current studio in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Martian Press has exhibited at more than 50 art book and zine fairs worldwide.
