Velvet Jam Press is a Dallas-based risograph imprint making loud, devotional books and zines printed with faith issues. The press was created by two BIPOC immigrant creators, one queer, one straight, both a little mental, and built from years of collaborative, experimental printmaking. Velvet Jam publishes work about gender, power, pop culture, tenderness, and soft rebellion through saturated color, layered inks, and playful constraint-driven printing.

We come from Dallas, Texas, where the hair is high and beauty is measured in inches and attitude. We believe the brighter the ink, the closer to the truth. We print in Riso because subtlety never saved anyone. We love fluorescent pinks, holy blues, and colors that bleed like confession.

Inspired by church signs, gas-station glamour, Sunday best, and Saturday-night regret, our books are known for unconventional bindings including body piercings and devotional structures. Velvet Jam Press prints loud enough for the back pew.
